The Florida Bar created Board Certification to aid consumers in finding an attorney who has “demonstrated ability and experience in certain fields of law”. Being Board Certified in the area of Criminal Trial Practice, gives the attorney an approved manner in which to inform the public and other lawyers of their accomplishments worthy of expertise and specialization designation. This achievement is the highest level of commendation awarded by the Florida Bar for expertise and performance through actual jury trial experience and learning in criminal law.
Among the requirements of certification, an attorney must pass a difficult competitive examination; demonstrate substantial experience in the specialty area of Criminal Law; complete and maintain continuing legal education legal programs; and have the ability and experience in the specialty field of Criminal Trial Practice as favorably evaluated by judges and other lawyers.
Certification is valid for five years. Recertification requirements are similar to those for initial certification. Charles R. Holloman, Ocala Criminal Defense Attorney, is the first attorney to have been honored as being the first Florida Bar Board Certified Attorney in Criminal Trial Practice based in Ocala in 1990. He has remained Board Certified continuously for the last twenty five years. Since then, only a handful of Ocala Defense Attorneys have become Board Certified in Criminal Trial Practice. Not all attorneys, regardless of their desire or dedication, can withstand the rigors of such testing and scrutiny and attain such recognition. If the Ocala Criminal Defense Attorneys you are considering are not Board Certified in Criminal Trial Practice, why not? Only a lawyer certified by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education is entitled to state that he or she is “board certified” on websites, business cards, letterhead, in legal directories and yellow pages of telephone directories. In addition, certified attorneys directories are published annually and sent to libraries and local bar associations throughout Florida.
Why? They are the legally recognized experts and/or specialist in Criminal Trial Practice. All others are simply self-appointed and anointed. Charles R. Holloman is driven to achieve the very best result because he appreciates the fact that it is HIS case too. Your freedom may often be riding on his case, or your very life, but as equally important to him is his reputation, a passion that drives him to the zenith of advocacy for you and your cause. It is not about whether you did it or not. The real question is whether a jury will or should attach CRIMINAL RESPONSIBILTY to the act for not.
The mission of Charles R. Holloman responsibility is to do everything within his power to see to it that a conviction does not attach or the very best result is obtained under the circumstances. As Charles R. Holloman is so fond of saying: “Just because you did it does not mean that you are guilty.”
